Dhoom 3 (2013)

On 2 February 2011, Yash Raj Films confirmed that the third installment of the series would go on floors at the end of 2011 and planned for a Christmas 2012 release,^[1]though now it is releasing early 2013 due to extensive post production.^[2] The film will feature Aamir Khan playing a negative character while Abhishek Bachchan andUday Chopra will reprise their roles. Rani Mukerji will star in a pivotal role. Katrina Kaif will also be a part of the film. Dhoom 3 will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. ^[1]The story will take place ten years after the events of Dhoom and eight after the events of Dhoom 2.

Filming was expected to start from January 2012, with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra facing the camera first,^[3] but due to the release of lead actor Aamir's film Talaash, it had been pushed back to June.^[4]

Reportedly,the producer of the film, Aditya Chopra wanted to make the film in 3d format, feeling that the success of Haunted 3D showed that Indian audiences have opened up to 3D cinema viewing . But actor Aamir Khan is not convinced as he thinks 'making a 3D film needs more expertise'.^[5] Some sources still maintain that the film will release in 3D. ^[6]

It was announced that the composer of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, Pritam, will return once again to compose the music of the third installment.^[7]
